Colaborative development with Cola Experience
Well, Jason Dean and I tried out Colaborative development with Cola. I really like the concept as it is much easier than copy and pasting code in email or over IM. However, there are a few things I liked and disliked.
First thing I disliked was it seems you can only share java and txt files. This was a draw back when I needed to share my cfm file with Jason. So for the time being, I just copied by cfm code into a txt file.
Second thing I disliked was that even though it said it would work with 3.3, I had trouble finding the share option. I never did find it, so I had to install 3.4, which wasn't a huge deal because I was meaning to check it out. However, I couldn't get cfeclipse to install. Has anyone else?
One thing I did like was the ability to edit the file at the same time. I could see Jason type and he could see me type. We could also chat inside of eclipse over IM (gtalk).
Well, even though it had some flaws, I see this as a great tool to share code and receive help. I can't wait so I can try it again and learn some new things. Below is a video that helped me get started:

Also, I emailed the ECF-Dev (Eclipse Communications Framework) ListServ and asked about supporting additional file formats. They said it has to do with the editor context and which one CFEclipse is using. They referred me to a Wiki article. I tried to make it work, but it was over my head. I forward the article on to Mark Drew. Maybe it can be added to a future release. Here's hoping.
